He won Broadway's 1976 Tony Award as Best Actor (Featured Role - Play) for George Bernard Shaw's "Mrs. Warren's Profession." Was also Tony-nominated in 1983 as Best Actor (Play) for "Plenty."

Richard Gilmore is a very smart man, who also attended Yale, just like Rory. He works in the insurance business, and is very rich. His wife, Emily, and him were separated for a while,  but recently renewed their vows. He is very nice.
